WIld Card Weekend-Analysis and Predictions for Jets/Colts game!

Going into the year most people picked this to be the AFC Championship Game and here we are on Wild Card weekend.
The Jets enter the playoffs kind of shaky losing 3 out of their last 5 games.  Mark "The Sanchise" Sanchez has finally come back to earth the last half of the season after having a very strong start to the year.  NFL experts were all gushing over how great "The Sanchise" was and how great he was at finishing off games.  I'm not saying he's a bad QB, I'm just saying don't get the Hall of Fame jacket measured quite yet.  The key for the Jets will to give Mark a strong running game with LT and Shonn Greene and open up the deep passing game with play action passes.  They need to get Braylon Edwards involved early so he keeps his head in the game. Edwards and Holmes are solid deep ball receivers but neither are the kind of possession receiver Mark Sanchez needs at this point in his career.   Unfortunately for the Jets, until Mark Sanchez improves as a QB the Jets will be winning ugly football games.  The Jets cannot get down against the Colts because the Colts are made to stop the pass!

The Colts looked left for dead at 6-6 and losers of 3 straight. Injuries were piling up and Manning was not looking his usual sharp self .  Then the light turned on for the Colts and they started figuring out how to win with what they had.  They used guys like Mike Hart, Jacob Tamme, Blair White, and Donald Brown and Manning started gaining confidence in the new players.  The Colts don't look like the team that was a Casey Painter play away from a undefeated season like they did last year but they are gritty team that plays a lot like their leader Manning.  They play smart, focused football and they don't give up!  If they get a lead on the Jets, Freeney and Mathis will make sure the lead stays.  I like the Colts to win this one and advance to the next round.

My prediction Colts 24 Jets 17

  1. I agree with your prediction Mike. I think the Jets have the better all around team but the Colts have more of what it takes to win in the playoffs. Experience and the best quarterback!
