When considering how to predict which teams will make it to SuperBowl XLV... I first looked at who has the best route to Dallas but then considered matchups that might happen along the way. Most important is how good I really think each team is and how well they will play in the playoffs. I am not taking New England or Atlanta because they are the favorites. Not often do both #1's get there so I leave them both out.
I freely admit that I was considering the Saints so the fact that they just got knocked out gives me a better opportunity to be right. So starting with the NFC this is how I see it. I don't think Michael Vick is healthy enough to work his magic against a stout Defense like Green Bay so the Eagles are out leaving only the Bears, Seahawks, and Packers. Seattle goes to Chicago in a game they could win but neither the Seahawks or Bears would go into Atlanta and win the NFC Championship. This leaves the Packers as the only team that fits and considering it was just a three point win for the Falcons when they met in Atlanta in Week 12 and the Packers have improved so much since that day, I am going to guess that Green Bay advances to the Super Bowl. This is a guessing game anyway and every game is a toss up. The Packers have a shot!
In the AFC I have been trying to decide between the Ravens and Steelers. Even though Joe Flacco and Ray Rice have not been as good as anticipated this season, that Defense is so good, so experienced, and not as banged up as the Steelers. I am worried that they might get knocked out in Kansas City but if they survive the Chiefs I really think they will win at Pittsburgh and and at New England. There you go, Baltimore is my guess!
I just put two Wild Card teams in the Super Bowl, this sure is fun!
Yes, the way I see it (even with my green and gold glasses off) is PACKERS over RAVENS in the SuperBowl, because it is not about who played the best all season, it is about guesssing who is going to play the best NOW!!!
