Since the other writers on this blog have put my face and name out there I no longer see any reason to try to be objective when I write about the Green Bay Packers. I will tell you exactly what I think and you are free to give your opinions in the comments. If fact, we strongly encourage you to make comments and become a follower.
I go by mjtrescher but my name is Mike Trescher and I have been right about the Packers since we started this blog so you have no reason to doubt me.
Here goes, my take on the teams that are still alive in the NFL playoffs:
Packers at Bears: The fact that the road team (#6 seed Green Bay) is a 3 point favorite in Vegas over the home team (#2 seed Chicago) should tell you all you need to know. The Packers have already passed the toughest hurdles of these NFC playoffs with wins at Philadelphia and Atlanta. Chicago is just a quick stop on the way to Dallas for Superbowl XLV.
Anything can happen, this is the NFL after all, but the Packers are playing there best ball at the right time and should beat the Bears by plenty. If you believe in jinxes notice the that the Bears are on the cover of Sports Illustrated right now. My guess is Packers 23 Bears 7 but we might put up as much as 45 again, even with the poor field conditions.
Jets at Steelers: I think the Jets have a real good shot in this one especially with a banged up Offensive Line in Pittsburgh but I am going with the best quarterback in this one.
My guess is Steelers 23 Jets 17 in Overtime!
Mike I hope you are right about the Packers!! I am personally trying to stay grounded. We have seen what happens when a team doesn't focus on the task at hand (they lose the Seahawks or the Jets). The Pack needs to take this next game seriously (as I am sure they are). The Superbowl and thoughts of it will still be there after the game on Sunday, so no need to think about it now!!
ReplyDeleteGo Pack!!!
Mike, very well said! I couldn't agree more with both of your predications.
